Adventures and goodbyes

So much has happened recently -- it's difficult to know exactly where to begin. Guess the best way to start is to just begin writing.....

We're still in the process of getting our condo ready for the big reveal to you, dear readers. We've been promising (for months!) to share photographs of our humble little abode once she's all gussied up for her close-up, but here's the thing: We still haven't hung artwork on the walls yet. Well, technically that's not quite true. Several items have been hung, but our work is not quite complete. In fact, I've decided hanging art on the walls is quite possibly one of the hardest tasks to master, and we may never hang everything we want to hang.

Hanging one item all by itself is no problem whatsoever. We've had no trouble hanging a framed photograph or two. What gets tricky is when an item requires two nails to be pounded into the wall at the exact same height and a precise width across. THAT'S where we have trouble. It's not rocket science. It's more challenging than rocket science. If anyone out there has a secret hanging process to share with us, please let us know. We're scared to create any more holes in the drywall because patching said holes isn't much fun, and we're getting WAY too much practice in doing so.

Because we still don't have condo pictures to share, instead we'll share some photographs of recent excursions of ours.

We visited the High Museum of Art. Our favorite part was the modern/contemporary galleries and the photographs from the depression-era.

We also got a little artsy ourselves. Check out these photos.

Lucky and her dad attended a Georgia Tech football game. Tech won!

The three of us visited the World of Coca-Cola. All you can drink soda, people. (I don't even drink soda, and yet I, too, participated in the drinking-frenzy along with hundreds of other thirsty and highly-caffeinated individuals.)

Lucky and I picnicked in Piedmont Park - one of our favorite places in Atlanta.

On a much more somber note, we said goodbye to Lucky's grandfather, DonDon. His passing was a bit of a shock, given that he had recently reported feeling the best he'd felt in a year. We'll miss so many things about DonDon - from playing cards with him and Grandmama to their playful banter. We'll miss his smile and his laugh. He was a beautiful soul and he was loved by so many people, including us. We love you, DonDon.

We hope you're enjoying all the adventures life has to offer and making sure to tell friends and family you love them. Speaking of, we love y'all (yes, I just wrote y'all - I'm becoming a southern girl) and miss y'all very much...the girlz

Have you considered using a level for picture hanging?
