we made pie!

as you may or may not know, lucky and i aren't exactly known for our culinary prowess. although we've become more adventurous chefs in the kitchen through the years, we hadn't ever baked a pie...until this past weekend! with the fall season upon us, it seemed fitting to make an apple pie. plus, it's one of lucky's favorites.

we gathered the ingredients, peeled and sliced some beautiful granny smith apples, and assembled the pie in a somewhat unconventional dish, because we're unconventional girls. who says pie needs to be round anyway??! surprisingly, the pie is quite yummy, so i'm sure we'll venture into pie-making again in the future. (using a pre-made crust was helpful too - thank you, pillsbury dough boy!)

although the pie looks rather colorless in the picture, it's not nearly as bland-looking in person.


even more colorful are the leaves here as the fall colors have begun to erupt all around us. it's a feast for the eyes!
